Most recently, Meredith and the Simpson Thacher team, partnering with Campaign Legal Center and Kansas attorney Mark Johnson, secured a significant First Amendment victory on behalf of the Voter Participation Center following a bench trial on a paper record in the United States District Court for the District of Kansas. The Court’s ruling, which follows a 2021 entry of a preliminary injunction, permanently blocked the enforcement of anti-voter provisions in H.B. 2332, protecting voter access to personalized advance mail ballot applications in Kansas.
