Roy Reardon has close to 60 years of trial, litigation and arbitration experience, advising clients in commercial, antitrust, product liability, professional responsibility and securities disputes. Roy is a Fellow in the American College of Trial Lawyers and both Chairman of the Disciplinary Committee and a Special Master in the Appellate Division, First Department. He received the John J. Murphy Award for distinguished service from St. John’s University School of Law.

Roy L. Reardon is Of Counsel at Simpson Thacher & Bartlett LLP. His trial and litigation experience covers a wide gamut of areas, including jury trials in state and federal trial courts around the country and arguing numerous appeals, including argument in the U.S. Supreme Court. Roy has been Trial and Appellate Counsel for large U.S. Companies and Financial Institutions, including General Motors, Ford and GTE. His areas of particular specialty include commercial law, antitrust, product liability, professional responsibility, securities law, arbitration and mediation.

Roy is a Fellow in the American College of Trial Lawyers and is active in a number of bar associations. He serves as an arbitrator and mediator in domestic and international arbitrations and has lectured widely on a variety of litigation topics. He is the Chairman of the Disciplinary Committee, Appellate Division, First Department and a Special Master in the Appellate Division, First Department.

Roy joined Simpson Thacher in 1954 after receiving his J.D. from St. John’s University Law School. He had been a member of the Firm’s Executive Committee for many years, as well as Chairman of the Litigation Department.
