Capital Markets - The Firm has become experienced in capital markets transactions in Latin America and the Iberian Peninsula representing leading companies and financial institutions in a variety of complex transactions throughout the region. Such transactions have ranged from commercial paper and medium term note programs to international debt and equity offerings as well as the establishment of funds investing in Latin America.
Mergers and Acquisitions - Leveraging from its market-leading U.S. experience in mergers and acquisitions, the Firm has developed a strong M&A record in Latin America and the Iberian Peninsula. The Firm has handled matters for The Blackstone Group and others (private equity), the Telefónica Group (strategic acquisitions) and Owens-Illinois (joint venture / acquisition). The Firm has handled acquisitions and dispositions for Latin American companies as well, including Bavaria S.A.’s landmark acquisition of Backus in Peru.
Credit and Project Finance - The Firm has also represented international banking clients as lenders as well as Latin American multinational corporations as borrowers in a variety of financing transactions including syndicated sovereign loans, syndicated acquisition financings, structured export financings, USCP programs and export credit agency-guaranteed and insured loans and securitization transactions.
