PUBLIC SERVICE FELLOWSHIP PROGRAM:
Simpson Thacher offers associates the opportunity to spend one year working on a public service project supported by a stipend and benefits from the Firm. For information on our Public Service Fellowship Program, please click here.
SUMMER FELLOWSHIPS:
In further support of summer associates' pro bono work, Simpson Thacher sponsors a Public Interest Fellowship Program that annually awards public service fellowships to up to four of our summer associates. Each Public Interest Fellow will complete eight weeks of the summer at the Firm and then spend four to six weeks on a significant public service project of his or her own choosing.
We also sponsor the Cyrus Vance Fellowship for one summer associate from Yale Law School. A Vance Fellow spends a minimum of their first eight weeks at Simpson Thacher, and then spends the remaining summer weeks undertaking a significant human rights project. The Vance Fellowship was created to honor our former partner Cyrus Vance who graduated from Yale and enjoyed a distinguished career in private practice and public service. The Vance Fellowship is offered in conjunction with the Orville H. Schell, Jr., Center for International Human Rights at Yale Law School.
Public Interest Fellows and Vance Fellows receive full summer associates salary during the entire summer, including while working on their public service or human rights projects.
