Bill Russell Honored at Legal Services NYC Annual Gala
Bill Russell, former Head of Simpson Thacher’s Bankruptcy and Restructuring Litigation Practice, was recognized as one of Legal Services NYC’s (LSNYC) honorees on March 11 at the organization’s annual Jazz for Justice Benefit. A long-time LSNYC board member, Bill was celebrated for his decades of service in the legal community as “a steadfast champion of justice whose leadership has strengthened the very foundation of civil legal services in New York City.”
Founded in 1968, LSNYC fights poverty and seeks racial, social and economic justice for low-income New Yorkers, providing legal services that help clients meet basic needs for housing, income and economic security, family and immigration stability, education and health care.
