Simpson Thacher & Bartlett LLP today announced that David McKendrick has joined the Firm’s London office as a Partner in the Energy and Infrastructure Practice.

David brings a wealth of private practice and in-house experience across the energy and infrastructure sector advising clients on high-profile strategic mandates.”

He joins from another international law firm.

“David’s experience advising on high‑profile, market‑leading infrastructure M&A transactions will complement our European energy and infrastructure capabilities. He will be an asset to Simpson Thacher, and we welcome him to the Firm,” said European Managing Partner, Wheatly MacNamara.

David’s move to Simpson Thacher follows the hire of energy transition Partner Eleanor Milne, who joined the Firm’s London office in September 2025, and M&A Partner Nick Appleton, who joined in January 2026.
