Big Shot Pictures Acquires Minority Stake in “Alvin and the Chipmunks” Franchise
Simpson Thacher represented Big Shot Pictures Inc. in its acquisition of 25% of the “Alvin and the Chipmunks” franchise, as part of a strategic partnership with Bagdasarian Productions.
Big Shot Pictures is a family-entertainment company and next-generation studio focused on building global franchises. Big Shot Pictures launched earlier this year and is led by former Paramount co-Chief Executive Brian Robbins.
The Simpson Thacher team included David Hernand, Julian Alsarhn and Emma Kateman (M&A); Ron Ben-Yehuda and Tally Smitas (IP); and Adam Arikat and Jacob Kennedy (Tax).
