Erland Modesto and Brandon Barton Shortlisted for Texas Legal Awards “Dealmakers of the Year” for 2026
Erland Modesto and Brandon Barton have been named finalists for the “Dealmakers of the Year” category for Texas Lawyer’s annual Texas Legal Awards. Erland and Brandon were shortlisted for their leadership on the Simpson Thacher team advising JPMorgan Chase Bank as lead arranger for $2.349 billion of debt financing to Crucible Metals—which is a cornerstone of JPMorgan's $1.5 trillion Security and Resiliency Initiative, launched October 2025 to finance industries critical to national economic security.
