Karen Kazmerzak Participates in AHLA’s Antitrust in Healthcare Course
Karen Kazmerzak, a Partner in the Firm’s Antitrust and Trade Regulation Practice served as a faculty member for the American Health Law Association’s (“AHLA”) on-demand, seven-module CLE course, “Antitrust in Health Care 101: Spot Issues Before They Become Problems,” designed to help health care practitioners build a strong foundation in the antitrust laws governing health care organizations and transactions. Karen’s module, titled “Vertical Integration in Health Care,” explores the growing trend of health systems acquiring physician practices, post-acute providers, and related businesses, with a focus on how vertical integration is evaluated under antitrust laws, key theories of competitive harm and barriers to market entry.
