Carol Daniel - Partner Carol Daniel routinely advises private equity sponsors, issuers and underwriters on their high yield bond offerings, restructurings, initial public offerings and other corporate finance transactions. She has also represented corporations and private equity sponsors in a variety of leveraged buyouts transactions, as well as general corporate and securities law matters. Gareth Earl - Partner Based in our London office, Gareth Earl advises on the establishment and operation of a wide variety of private investment funds, including private equity, growth, energy, infrastructure, real estate and credit funds together with bespoke managed account arrangements. Shahpur K. Kabraji - Partner A Partner in the Firm’s London office, Shahpur K. Kabraji is a member of the Banking and Credit Practice. He focuses primarily on domestic and cross-border syndicated credit, acquisition finance and other leveraged finance transactions. Shahpur regularly serves as counsel to leading private equity sponsors and their portfolio companies in acquisition financings, bank and bridge loan financings and refinancings, and other corporate finance transactions. His recent representations include advising KKR in financing relating to its €1.1 billion acquisition of Airbus Group’s Defense Electronics Unit, and Silver Lake, which is part of a consortium with AltaOne Capital LLP, in their financing for a tender offer to acquire the share capital of Cegid Group, a leading outsourcing business.

Robert Lee - Partner Rob Lee is a Partner in the Private Funds Practice in the London office. Rob’s practice focuses on the formation and operation of private investment funds across a variety of investment strategies, as well as related aspects of the alternative investment class, including managed accounts, co-investment arrangements and the structuring of carried interest and other incentive schemes. Rob has represented various sponsors of private equity, infrastructure and other alternative investment funds, including EQT, Cinven, Apax Partners and CVC Capital Partners.

Tom Lloyd - Partner A Partner in the Firm’s London office, Tom Lloyd is a member of both the Real Estate and Banking and Credit practices. Tom regularly represents private equity companies in connection with credit transactions involving significant real estate investments throughout Europe. He recently advised Blackstone in the financing of its €6.5 billion acquisition of a Spanish residential portfolio and the financing of the European real estate assets purchased by Blackstone as part of its $23 billion acquisition of real estate assets from GE Capital. In addition to his real estate-related engagements, Tom also advises corporate and private equity clients on financial instruments, cross-border finance issues and credit matters across a broad range of industries.

Tyler Robinson is dual-qualified in the U.S. and England and handles a wide variety of high-stakes, international commercial disputes and international arbitrations. Tyler has extensive experience before arbitration tribunals throughout the world, including UNCITRAL, ICC, LCIA, AAA/ICDR, HKIAC, JAMS and ad-hoc international arbitrations, among others.  He has litigated arbitration-related disputes in the national courts of the United States, Singapore, Hong Kong, New Zealand, India, Brazil, and the Cayman Islands. He was named as a National Law Journal “ADR Champion” in 2017.

Paul Dodd - Counsel Paul Dodd works closely with partners Jason Glover and Gareth Earl in the Private Funds Practice at Simpson Thacher & Bartlett LLP in London.  He focuses on financial regulation, in particular, the regulation of alternative investment funds under the AIFMD, their marketing in the UK and, through advice provided by the Firm’s network of foreign counsel, elsewhere in Europe.  Paul began his legal career at the Department of Justice in Canada in 1993.  After qualifying, he worked as a barrister and solicitor in Vancouver, British Columbia before moving to London in 1998 to work at a magic circle firm in structured finance (securitization).

John Osborne is Counsel in the Firm’s Competition Practice in London. His practice focuses primarily on EU and UK competition law matters including merger control, strategic alliances, joint ventures and commercial agreements and monopoly and cartel investigations. He has represented clients before the UK’s Office of Fair Trading and Competition Commission, the European Commission and the EU’s General Court (the principal court of appeal for the European Commission) on both transactional and cartel matters. John also has extensive experience with respect to UK government regulation in the energy, water and airport sectors.
