Jin’s M&A work includes buyouts and minority investments representing both private equity and strategic clients, and his capital markets transactions include IPOs and Rule 144A/Regulation S offerings representing both blue-chip companies as well as leading investment banks. Jin also leads the Firm’s Korea Practice. Jin has been recognized by both Chambers Global and Chambers Asia for his expertise in both M&A and capital markets. Youngjin Sohn - Partner Youngjin Sohn is the Head of Simpson Thacher’s Seoul office. With an active practice in Korea since 1998, Youngjin has worked with Korean corporations and international corporations with interests in Korea as well as investment banks for many years. He concentrates his practice on capital markets and M&A transactions and regularly represents issuers and underwriters in a wide spectrum of offerings, including equity, debt, convertibles and exchangeables, and both SEC-registered and Rule 144A/Regulation S offerings, including Korea Exchange–listed IPOs. He has been recognized for his capital markets work by both Chambers Global and Chambers Asia. Youngjin also worked on various M&A transactions, primarily Korean companies’ outbound investments.
