Spencer P. Patton is Counsel in Simpson Thacher’s London office where he is a member of the Firm’s Real Estate Practice. He concentrates his practice on private equity real estate acquisitions, dispositions and joint ventures on behalf of leading international fund sponsors.
Spencer began his career at Simpson Thacher in 2014. Prior to rejoining the Firm in 2022, he was Counsel at an international sovereign wealth fund.
Spencer’s recent work highlights include:
- Blackstone on the sale of its U.K. logistics assets to Tritax Big Box REIT plc for £1.04 billion
- Blackstone Capital Partners and Blackstone Real Estate on their agreement to acquire Bourne Leisure, a premier U.K. holiday company
- Blackstone Real Estate on the acquisition of a portfolio of over 200 Swedish logistics and industrial assets from Castellum Aktiebolag (publ)
- Blackstone on the acquisition of five Greek hotel businesses from the Louis Group, one of the leading hotel groups in the Mediterranean, at an agreed property value of €178.6 million

Spencer received his J.D. from The University of Texas at Austin School of Law in 2014, Order of the Coif, where he was Managing Editor of the Texas Law Review. He received his B.A. in English and Political Science from Loyola University, Chicago in 2011.
