Mr. Lin became a partner of Simpson Thacher & Bartlett LLP in 2001 and is currently a partner in our Hong Kong office. Mr. Lin joined the Firm in 1992 after receiving a J.D. degree from Columbia Law School. Mr. Lin is fluent in Mandarin Chinese. Mr. Lin has actively participated in many corporate finance, M&A, direct investment and project finance transactions in the Greater China area. Mr. Lin was named one of top 100 IPO lawyers in 2004 by the IPO Lawyer Year book. Mr. Lin’s representative transactions include:

- U.S. SEC registered offerings of equity securities of Canadian Solar Inc., China GrenTech, China Finance Online, China Techfaith, Ctrip.com, Focus Media, Hurray!, Linktone, Ninetowns, Trina Solar and Vision China;
- Acquisitions by Focus Media of Framedia, Target Media and Allyes Information;
- Rule 144A offerings and Hong Kong Stock Exchange listings of China Railway Engineering, China Shenhua Energy (the second largest IPO from China in 2005), China Oriental, Dongxiang and Samson Furniture;
- Rule 144A and Regulation S offerings of senior notes of Citic Resources Holdings;
- Rule 144A private placement of senior notes of The People's Construction Bank of China (currently known as China Construction Bank); and
- Formation of China International Capital Co., a joint venture between China Construction Bank and Morgan Stanley.
