Daniel Clivner is Managing Partner of the Firm’s Los Angeles office, where he has worked on many of the largest media transactions and advised domestic and international clients in mergers and acquisitions and securities law matters, including leveraged buyouts, joint ventures, public company acquisitions and restructurings of media and other companies.
Mr. Clivner has recently advised corporate clients such as JPMorgan in the pending sale of MGM Studios; Blackstone Capital Partners in its acquisitions of Performance Food Group Company, Pinnacle Foods Corporation and Birds Eye Foods; S.A.C. Private Capital Group in its pending acquisition of Airvana, Inc., and acquisitions of CBaySystems Holdings and MedQuist, Inc. and Cosmos Bank, Taiwan; CBS Corporation in the sale of Paramount Parks, Inc. to Cedar Fair LP; KSL Capital Partners in connection with its acquisition of ClubCorp., Inc.; Ripplewood Holdings in connection with its acquisition and disposition of Japan Telecom K.K.; and Toys “R” Us in its sale. He has also previously advised NBC Universal (formerly Universal Studios) in connection with numerous television, theme park, motion picture and music acquisition, disposition and financing transactions.
Dan has been with the Firm since 1988 and a partner since 1998. He received his B.B.A. in Finance and Economics from Baruch College, with honors, and his J.D. from St. John’s University School of Law, where he was Editor of the St. John’s Law Review. He is a Trustee of The Baruch College Fund of Baruch College. Dan is also a member of the Executive Committees of the Board of AIDS Project Los Angeles (APLA) and Public Counsel, the nation’s largest pro bono law firm. Dan has been named by Chambers as a leading lawyer in Corporate/M&A: Private Equity in California. He is a member of the California Bar Association and the New York State Bar Association.
