Daniel Clivner is Managing Partner of the Firm’s Los Angeles office, where he has worked on many of the largest media transactions and advised domestic and international clients in mergers and acquisitions, including leveraged buyouts, joint ventures, public company acquisitions and restructurings.

Mr. Clivner has recently advised corporate and private equity clients such as JPMorgan, as agent, in the restructuring of MGM Studios and sale of an interest to Spyglass Entertainment; Blackstone Capital Partners in its acquisitions of Performance Food Group Company, Pinnacle Foods Corporation and Birds Eye Foods; a consortium led by Siris Capital in its acquisition of Tekelec; S.A.C. Private Capital Group in its acquisitions and recapitalization of Airvana, Inc., CBaySystems Holdings, MedQuist, Inc., and Cosmos Bank, Taiwan; CBS Corporation in the sale of Paramount Parks, Inc. to Cedar Fair LP; KSL Capital Partners in connection with its acquisitions of ClubCorp., Inc. and The Squaw Valley Development Company; Ripplewood Holdings in connection with its acquisition and disposition of Japan Telecom K.K.; ZelnickMedia in its acquisition of Alloy, Inc.; and Toys “R” Us in its sale. He has also advised The Seagram Company and NBC Universal (formerly Universal Studios) in connection with numerous television, theme park, motion picture and music acquisition, disposition and financing transactions.  He has also been involved in aircraft sales and project finance transactions.  Dan has been named by Chambers as a leading lawyer (Band 2) in Corporate/M&A: Private Equity in California.

Dan has been with the Firm since 1988 and a partner since 1998. He received his B.B.A. in Finance and Economics from Baruch College, with honors, and his J.D. from St. John’s University School of Law, where he was Editor of the St. John’s Law Review.  He is a Trustee of The Baruch College Fund of Baruch College.  Dan is also Treasurer and a member of the Executive Committee of the Board of Public Counsel, the nation’s largest pro bono law firm.  He is a member of the California Bar Association and the New York State Bar Association.
