Kathryn King Sudol is a Partner at Simpson Thacher & Bartlett LLP and a member of the Firm’s Corporate Department where she focuses on mergers and acquisitions. Ms. Sudol has advised corporate, private equity and other clients in connection with a variety of public and private merger and acquisition transactions, leveraged buyouts, minority and strategic investments and other corporate matters.

- CDH Growth Capital in its proposal with a consortium led by TPG for a potential going private transaction involving CNinsure Inc.
- Merrill Lynch (Asia Pacific) in connection with the $2.3 billion going private transaction involving Shanda Interactive Entertainment Limited
- China National Agrochemical Corporation in its $2.4 billion acquisition of Makhteshim Agan Industries in Israel
- MMI Holdings Limited in its acquisition of Intriplex Technologies, acquisition of Precision Magnetics Singapore and acquisition of the Metalform Group in China, Thailand and Singapore
- Primus Pacific Partners in its sale of a stake in New China Life Insurance Co.

Ms. Sudol is currently located in our Hong Kong office, after practicing in our New York office from 1998 through 2010. She received her B.S., with honors, from Northwestern University, School of Speech, in 1995 and her J.D. from New York University School of Law in 1998. Ms. Sudol has served a trustee of The First Presbyterian Church in the City of New York and on the National Women’s Law Center Leadership 35 advisory committee. Ms. Sudol has been recognized by The New York Times as one of the next generation of dealmakers in “The Facebook of Wall Street’s Future,” and has been named as a leading Private Equity M&A lawyer in Hong Kong by IFLR1000.
