Laura Palma is a partner with Simpson Thacher & Bartlett LLP where she is a member of the Firm's Corporate Department. Ms. Palma concentrates on structured finance transactions, including rental car and rental truck fleet financings, franchise royalty securitizations, cell tower securitizations, aircraft portfolio securitizations, auto, truck and equipment loan and lease securitizations, timeshare loan securitizations and other receivables financings. Most recently, Ms. Palma has advised the lenders in connection with the innovative refinancing of approximately $26 billion of commercial paper conduit facilities secured by auto loans, auto leases and dealer floorplan loans originated by Chrysler Financial, a $11.4 billion revolving credit facility for GMAC secured by auto loans, auto leases, various types of dealer loans and residual interests in other securitizations, a $943 million commercial paper conduit facility secured by vacation ownership interests originated by Wyndham Worldwide and a $100 million leasing warehouse facility for AmeriCredit Financial Services.  She regularly works with JPMorgan Chase in connection with structuring complex securitization transactions.  She also regularly represents other firm clients, such as American Electric Power Company, ARAMARK Corporation and Kl√∂ckner Pentaplast of America, Inc., in connection with trade and other receivables financing transactions.

Ms. Palma has been a partner at Simpson Thacher since 1995. She received her B.A., magna cum laude, in 1980 from Dartmouth College, where she was elected to Phi Beta Kappa. She received her J.D. in 1983 from Columbia University Law School. Ms. Palma is a member of the Committee on Structured Finance of the Bar Association of The City of New York.
