Mr. Feder is Of Counsel in the Firm’s Corporate Department, advising clients on corporate finance transactions. He represents several leading investment banks in connection with high yield offerings and other leveraged financings, including mezzanine and bridge financings, and he has also represented several leading private equity sponsors and their portfolio companies in connection with acquisition financings.
From 2001 to 2003, Mr. Feder served as the managing partner of the Firm's Hong Kong office. Prior to that, Mr. Feder ’s practice included a focus on equity-linked and structured transactions and he has been principally involved in offerings of structured Tier I capital, convertible and exchangeable securities, hybrid debt instruments, asset-backed securities, trust preferred securities, and structured aircraft securities (EETC's). He has also represented corporate clients and investment banks in conventional securities offerings such as straight equity, cross-border debt, medium term notes and high-yield debt. Mr. Feder’s career also includes notable debt restructuring engagements, including the workouts of Chrysler, International Harvester and Tucson Electric Company.
Mr. Feder is a member of the Association of the Bar of the City of New York. He has lectured on various securities law topics and co-authored the article "Asian Restructuring: The Path Ahead" which was published in Asia Law.
Mr. Feder joined Simpson Thacher in 1979 and became a partner in 1986. He received his B.A., cum laude, from Queen's College of the City University of New York in 1974 and his J.D. from Fordham University Law School in 1979 where he was an Associate Editor of the Law Review.
