Ms. Sinead O’Shea is a partner in the Firm’s Corporate Department, focusing on financing.  She has experience in a broad range of cross-border senior and subordinated financings, with an emphasis on leveraged acquisition finance.

  • Blackstone in connection with the financing for its announced acquisition of Valad Property Group in Australia.
  • KKR in connection with senior and bridge financing for Orion Investment Co., Ltd.’s announced public tender offer for Yageo Corporation in Taiwan.
  • JPMorgan in connection with high yield bridge financing for Vision Capital’s announced EUR375 million acquisition of Bermioli Rocco in Italy.
  • China National Agrochemical Corporation in connection with financing relating to its pending $2.4 billion acquisition of Makhteshim Agan Industries in Israel.
  • MMI Holdings Limited in connection with the financing for its acquisition of Intriplex Technologies in Singapore.
  • KKR in connection with its JPY32.5 billion acquisition of Intelligence Ltd. in Japan.
  • Citigroup Capital Partners in its $1 billion sale of Bellsystems24 to Bain Capital.
  • KKR in connection with the financing for its $1.8 billion acquisition of Oriental Brewery Co., Ltd. in Korea.

  • The lead arrangers in connection with the bridge and Tranche C financing for the merger of NTL with Telewest and the subsequent acquisition of Virgin Mobile.
  • Apax, Blackstone, KKR, Permira and Providence in connection with the high yield bridge financing for their acquisition of TDC A/S, the former national telecommunications provider of Denmark. 
  • Blackstone in connection with the senior financing for its acquisition of New Skies Satellites N.V.
  • Apax in connection with the senior and second lien financings for its acquisition of HIT Entertainment plc.
  • KKR and its portfolio company, Rockwood Specialties Chemicals, in connection with the senior financing for their acquisition of the Dynamit Nobel group of companies.
  • Blackstone in connection with the senior and high yield bridge financing for its acquisition of Celanese.

Ms. O’Shea joined Simpson Thacher in 2000.  She is currently based in the Firm’s Hong Kong office and has also worked in the Firm’s New York and London offices.  She received an LL.M. in 1996 and a Bachelor of Civil Law degree in 1994 from University College Cork, Ireland and a Barrister-at-law degree in 1998 from the Honorable Society of Kings Inns, Ireland.  She is admitted to the New York bar and the Law Society of England and Wales and practices both New York and English law.
