Since the Palo Alto office of Simpson Thacher opened its doors in 1999, we have experienced remarkable growth in response to the needs of our clients. We now have over 65 attorneys (including 16 partners), practicing a wide range of corporate and litigation law, as well as executive compensation and employee benefits, intellectual property and technology, and tax.
Our corporate attorneys focus on mergers and acquisitions, securities offerings, private equity transactions, fund formation and a variety of other corporate matters, and advise leading technology companies, private equity firms, and financial institutions based in Northern California and around the world.
The Palo Alto litigation practice concentrates primarily on intellectual property, securities, antitrust and commercial matters. We represent local, national, and international clients in a broad array of matters, including multi-venue/multi-patent actions, internal investigations, securities class action suits, antitrust cases, and ERISA litigations.
Our lawyers are committed to a vibrant pro bono practice, and the Palo Alto office was recognized by the Law Foundation of Silicon Valley’s Public Interest Law Firm as its Public Interest Counsel Award winner for 2006.
We visit more than a dozen campuses each fall to interview for our Palo Alto summer program, and invite law students with exceptional academic records to apply to work with us.
