Seema Shah is a member of our Private Funds Practice based in London, focusing on the sponsoring and operation of private investment funds, and other aspects of private investing in alternative asset classes, including the structuring of executive carried interest and co-investment arrangements and separate account arrangements. Seema has advised some of Europe’s leading sponsors on some of the largest fundraisings in Europe since 2009, including Apax Partners, BC Partners, Coller Capital, CVC Capital Partners and CVC Credit Partners.

Seema joined Simpson Thacher from Clifford Chance in 2013, having previously spent over 18 months on secondment to Apax Partners as funds counsel for the duration of the raising of Apax’s global private equity fund, Apax VIII. She became a Partner in 2016.

Seema received her B.A. (Hons) in Law from Gonville & Caius College, University of Cambridge in 2003 and was awarded her Diploma in Legal Practice with Distinction from Nottingham Law School in 2004.
