The bankruptcy and creditors’ rights practice of the Firm regularly represents major parties in some of the largest and most complex bankruptcies and restructurings in the country and internationally.  The lawyers in the practice have major case experience representing secured and unsecured lenders, DIP and exit facility lenders, debtors, official creditors’ committees, equity holders, investors and acquirers.  The Firm’s lawyers play a leading role in finding solutions for the complicated and unique problems that often arise in large multi-party cases.  They have broad experience in almost every industry - airline, automotive, cable and telecommunications, consumer products, energy, healthcare, manufacturing, real estate, retail, steel and textile, among others.

The bankruptcy and creditors’ rights practice group has handled transactions on behalf of ABN Amro, Bear Stearns, The Blackstone Group, Citigroup, Credit Suisse First Boston, Deutsche Bank, Evercore Partners, Goldman Sachs, JPMorgan Chase, Lehman Brothers, Perry Capital, The Quadrangle Group, TD Securities and Wachovia Securities.  We have also served a variety of senior lenders in project finance workouts in the United States and abroad, including Banque Paribas, Toronto Dominion, Lehman Brothers, Dresdner Bank 2nd, Union Bank and LTCB.

The lawyers in the practice area are frequently called on to assist with other Firm practice groups in designing transaction structures that anticipate and mitigate the risk of bankruptcy.  They work closely with the Firm’s litigation practice, including in mass tort bankruptcies and restructurings.
