Investment Counsel for Endowments

Simpson Thacher & Bartlett advises and represents not-for-profit institutions in connection with the investment of their respective endowments. The firm’s representation includes the review and negotiation of documentation relating to investments in private equity funds, venture capital funds, real asset funds, hedge funds, managed accounts and similar investment vehicles. The firm’s core relationships in this area include The Metropolitan Museum of Art, Princeton University, Memorial Sloan-Kettering Hospital, Howard Hughes Medical Institute, Columbia University, Rockefeller University, Carnegie Corporation of New York, New York University, The University of Chicago, The Museum of Modern Art, the Alfred P. Sloan Foundation, the American University in Cairo and the Nathan Cummings Foundation.  The firm has also represented The Hearst Foundations, The Mayo Clinic, and The California Endowment.  In addition, the firm regularly provides similar representation to financial institutions (e.g., Lehman Brothers) and pension funds of the firm’s corporate clients (e.g., Northwest Airlines).
