The Labor and Employment Law Group have experience in all facets of labor and employment law. The Firm represents companies in the paper, mining, packaging, automotive, printing and consumer products sectors, as well as in financial services (including some of the largest banks in the world, investment banks and brokerages). The Group advises clients on labor and employment law issues that arise in transactions, financings and offerings, and represents clients in situations involving allegations of wrongful termination, sexual harassment and other employment–related disputes. The Firm’s advice has guided human resources and line management in the drafting and publication of sexual harassment policies and procedures, the design and implementation of internal investigations to determine the validity of allegations of sexual harassment, the evaluation of information learned in the internal investigations and the determination of whether disciplinary action is appropriate or required.
The Group, often in conjunction with the Executive Compensation and Employee Benefits Group, drafts, negotiates and enforces employment agreements for our clients' executives and key employees, including restrictions on engaging in competition with the employer and protection of trade secrets.
The Firm’s lawyers regularly represent clients before the federal, state and local government agencies that enforce the anti-discrimination laws, and in trying cases before those agencies and in state and federal courts.
