Simpson Thacher is currently ranked among the most diverse firms in the United States by the Minority Law Journal's Diversity Scorecard, which ranked over 200 law firms in the country. Recently, the Firm has elected a Latino, eight Asian/South Asian/Asian-American, and an openly lesbian attorney to partnership. We are proud that in the last three years 42% of our newly elected partners were women.
We recognize that promoting diversity must be a continuous process. We are committed to hiring, developing, retaining and promoting individuals who reflect the society in which we live and the global clients which we serve. In furtherance of this commitment, we are implementing a diversity action plan developed based on firm-wide input. Led by our Diversity and Women's Committees and our Associate Advisory Councils, we are actively engaging everyone at the Firm in this collective effort.

"I see my work on the Diversity Committee as an extension of what I do at the Firm every day – work closely with diverse, talented teams of lawyers. We take our Firm's commitment to diversity seriously, and our Committee’s role is to help the Firm put that commitment into practice and continue to measure our progress."
Marissa Wesely

"As Chair of the Women's Committee, I am committed to developing and promoting women at all levels in the Firm, from summer associates to partners. In doing so, we cultivate not only exceptionally talented lawyers, but also future leaders of the legal profession."
Natalia Martín
Director of Diversity
"When I started as an associate at Simpson Thacher in 1987, I was one of very few Latino attorneys at the Firm. When I returned in 2005 after 14 years as a law school dean of students, I found a much more diverse Firm. As the first Director of Diversity, I am excited about the Firm's focus on creating and maintaining an inclusive and supportive environment where everyone can thrive."
Victoria Bjorklund
Co-Chair of the Diversity Committee
"As a woman partner who has practiced at Simpson Thacher for over 25 years and as Co-Chair of the Diversity Committee, I am committed to the Firm's success in recruiting, retaining, mentoring and promoting outstanding individuals from diverse backgrounds."
