Ian Barratt is a Partner in the Firm's London office. Mr. Barratt specialises in domestic and cross-border acquisition finance and other leveraged finance transactions, acting on behalf of both banks and borrowers.
Mr Barratt's most recent experience involves representing many of the world's leading private equity firms, including:
- acting for Kohlberg Kravis Roberts & Co. and Stefano Pessina on the financing of the acquisition of Alliance Boots plc; the Alliance Boots acquisition was the first take-private of a FTSE 100 company and today ranks as the largest ever European buyout transaction based on value
- acting for Kohlberg Kravis Roberts & Co. and Goldman Sachs PIA on the financing of the acquisition of KION GROUP GmbH
- acting for Apax Partners, The Blackstone Group, Kohlberg Kravis Roberts & Co., Permira and Providence Equity Partners on the financing of the acquisition of TDC A/S; prior to completion of the Alliance Boots transaction the TDC acquisition was the largest private equity takeover in Europe
- acting for Kohlberg Kravis Roberts & Co. on the financing of the acquisition of Northgate Information Solutions plc
Mr. Barratt was admitted as an English solicitor in 2000 and joined the Firm in 2003. He received his undergraduate LLB Law degree from the University of Exeter in 1997.
