Lina Zhou is Counsel in the Firm’s Private Funds Practice, where she focuses her practice on all aspects of the formation and operation of a variety private investment funds, including buyout funds, growth equity funds, credit funds, venture capital funds, co-investment funds and managed accounts. She advises clients on the development, formation, marketing and operation of their funds, as well as on regulatory and compliance matters for funds and their management companies.

Select experience prior to joining Simpson Thacher includes:

  • Represented the investment advisory business of a global bank in connection with the ongoing raising of its evergreen infrastructure fund, which has approximately $20B in AUM.
  • Represented Veritas Capital in connection with the formation and raising of The Veritas Capital Fund VII, L.P. ($6.5 billion); its middle-market focused fund, The Veritas Capital Vantage Fund, L.P. ($1.8 billion); and its inaugural credit fund, The Veritas Capital Credit Opportunities Fund, L.P. ($400 million).
  • Represented Summit Partners in connection with the formation and raising of Summit Partners Growth Equity Fund X, L.P. ($4.9 billion).
  • Represented Butterfly Equity in the formation and raising of multiple co-investment vehicles in 2020 and 2021.

Lina Zhou is Counsel in Simpson Thacher’s New York office and a member of the Firm’s Private Funds Practice. Lina focuses her practice on all aspects of the formation and operation of a variety private investment funds, including buyout funds, growth equity funds, credit funds, venture capital funds, co-investment funds and managed accounts. She advises clients on the development, formation, marketing and operation of their funds, as well as on regulatory and compliance matters for funds and their management companies. Lina has represented clients ranging from first-time sponsors to global mega fund managers, such as Butterfly Equity, Summit Partners and Veritas Capital.
