Simpson Thacher represented Emergent Cold Latin America (“Emergent Cold LatAm”) in connection with a term loan facility of up to $250 million. The financing was provided by a group of lenders led by CPPIB Credit Investments Inc., a subsidiary of the Canada Pension Plan Investment Board (CPP Investments) and was arranged by Deutsche Bank AG. The proceeds will help advance the company’s ambitious growth strategy, including financing acquisitions, expansions, greenfield developments and other strategic initiatives across the region.
Emergent Cold LatAm is the largest provider of temperature-controlled food storage and logistics services across Latin America and the Caribbean, with a network comprising 110 cold-storage warehouses in 11 Latin American countries. Founded in 2021, Emergent Cold LatAm has grown rapidly through strategic acquisitions and greenfield projects to meet the region’s increasing demand for modern temperature-controlled logistic solutions for food.
