Simpson Thacher Represents Underwriters in $3 Billion Senior Callable Notes Offering by Sumitomo Mitsui Financial Group

Simpson Thacher recently represented the underwriters in the SEC-registered offering by Sumitomo Mitsui Financial Group, Inc. (“SMFG”) of $3 billion aggregate principal amount of four tranches of senior callable notes, consisting of one tranche of senior callable floating rate notes due 2031, one tranche of senior callable fixed-to-floating rate notes due 2031, one tranche of senior callable fixed-to-floating rate notes due 2033 and one tranche of senior callable fixed-to-floating rate notes due 2036.

SMBC Nikko Securities America, Inc., Goldman Sachs & Co. LLC, BofA Securities, Inc. and Jefferies LLC acted as the representatives of the underwriters.

SMFG is one of Japan’s largest banking groups and the parent company of Sumitomo Mitsui Banking Corporation.
