Applications are now open for the 2028 2L Summer Program. We encourage interested students to apply as soon as their applications are ready. We expect to conduct interviews from November through February. Offer decisions will be made on a rolling basis after first semester law school transcripts have been received.

We expect to conduct interviews from November through February. Offer decisions will be made on a rolling basis after first semester law school transcripts have been received.
The 2027 1L Summer Program is six weeks long and includes a stipend.

- As part of our application process, all candidates applying to the 2028 Summer Associate Program are required to complete Suited’s Cognitive Skills Assessment. Please click here to take the assessment.
- 1L transcript (once available)
- If you apply prior to receiving your first semester grades, please send your final transcript to [email protected] as soon as your completed transcript becomes available. If you have applied to multiple offices, please submit your transcript to the office in which you are most interested; individual office email addresses are also listed below.
- Optional Statement: You may elect to provide a short statement to address any information that you believe your application would be incomplete without and that highlights your potential to succeed at Simpson Thacher. Please note the optional statement is not a cover letter, nor do we require a cover letter (350 word maximum).
- Leadership Fellowship: You may also elect to apply to the Simpson Thacher Leadership Fellowship. All Leadership Fellowship applicants must complete the Fellowship Confirmation Form as part of the fellowship application.
Fellowship application materials can be submitted in two ways:
- Completing the Fellowship Confirmation Form contemporaneously with your application for the 2028 summer associate program, or
- By completing the Fellowship Confirmation Form and emailing your personal statement to [email protected] no later than Friday, January 22, 2027. Please ensure all forms are complete and use “Leadership Fellowship Application” as the subject line.
Fellowship applications will be reviewed on a rolling basis once students receive an offer to join the summer program.

Summer Associates are paid at a rate of $225,000 per year on a semi-monthly basis while employed.
