The Funds Channel: State ESG-Related Disclosure Laws

12.14.23
We are excited to bring you a new episode of The Funds Channel, discussing a number of recently-enacted state laws that might be considered “pro-ESG” that are impacting private fund sponsors. Notably, California has recently enacted a host of impactful ESG-related disclosure laws. Three of these laws have a climate focus: SB 253 is the Climate Corporate Data Accountability Act, SB 261 is the Climate-related Financial Risk Act, and AB 1305 is the Voluntary Carbon Market Disclosures Act, and another, SB 54, requires a covered entity to report annually to the California Civil Rights Department on the diversity of the founders and executive teams of companies in which they are investing. Listen in and learn more about these laws and how they may affect private fund sponsors.
