Associate Taylor Wettach, a member of Simpson Thacher’s National Security Regulatory Practice, was elected to the Stephen M. Kellen Term Member Program of the Council on Foreign Relations (CFR). The Program, established to cultivate the next generation of foreign policy leaders, provides young professionals in government, media, nongovernmental organizations, law, business, finance and academia the opportunity to participate in a sustained conversation on international affairs and U.S. foreign policy.
CFR is an independent, nonpartisan membership organization, think tank and publisher dedicated to being a resource for its members, government officials, business executives, journalists, educators and students, civic and religious leaders, and other interested citizens in order to help them better understand the world and the foreign policy choices facing the United States and other countries. With over 5,000 members, the institution’s ranks include top government officials, scholars, lawyers, nonprofit professionals, journalists, educators, religious leaders and business executives. CFR’s membership has included 7 U.S. presidents, 37 secretaries of state, 22 secretaries of defense, 25 secretaries of the treasury, 21 national security advisors, 6 Supreme Court justices, 24 Nobel Prize winners and many other notable citizens.
