James Howe, Co-Head of Simpson Thacher’s European M&A Practice, was quoted in a Financial Times article titled, “Foreign Buyers Snap Up Cheap UK Companies as Dealmaking Hits New High.” The article discusses how U.K. companies have recently attracted a surge of interest from foreign buyers looking to capitalize on cheap valuations, driving British dealmaking in 2025 to the highest levels since the pandemic-era boom. When discussing where dealmaking is happening in the U.K., James notes, “It is in the products we have to sell, which is services; professional services, financial services.”
