Simpson Thacher recently represented the underwriters in the SEC-registered offering by Sumitomo Mitsui Financial Group, Inc. (“SMFG”) of $5 billion aggregate principal amount of six tranches of Senior Notes, consisting of one tranche of senior floating rate notes due 2029, one tranche of senior fixed rate notes due 2029, one tranche of senior callable floating rate notes due 2032, one tranche of senior callable fixed-to-floating rate notes due 2032, one tranche of senior callable fixed-to-floating rate notes due 2037 and one tranche of senior callable fixed-to-floating rate notes due 2047.
SMBC Nikko Securities America, Inc., Goldman Sachs & Co. LLC, J.P. Morgan Securities LLC and Jefferies LLC acted as the representatives of the underwriters.
