M&A Partner Alison Preiss was quoted in an article titled, “Spinoff Stocks Beat the S&P 500 While Conglomerate Shares Fall Behind,” which was published by Bloomberg. The article discussed how spinoffs are increasingly performing well in the market, with investors rewarding single-portfolio businesses for their structural simplicity and often better valuations. Alison noted, “For a long time, the diversified conglomerates argued that scale and diversification created shareholder value. But we are seeing what I would call the ‘conglomerate discount’ reassert itself and investors are placing a higher premium on focus.”
