As a member of the Firm’s Mergers and Acquisitions Practice, Jonathan regularly represents corporations and private equity sponsors in mergers and acquisitions, dispositions, carve-outs, investments, joint ventures, recapitalizations and other corporate transactions across a wide range of industries, including technology, financial institutions, infrastructure, real estate, energy and industrials, among others, as well as a wide range of corporate governance matters. Jonathan is fluent in Japanese.

Jonathan is a member of the Firm’s Mergers and Acquisitions Practice. He regularly represents corporations and private equity sponsors in mergers and acquisitions, dispositions, carve-outs, investments, joint ventures, recapitalizations and other corporate transactions across a wide range of industries, including technology, financial institutions, infrastructure, real estate, energy and industrials, among others. He also advises on a wide range of corporate governance matters.

Jonathan’s recent transactions have included advising:

  • KKR in the acquisition, with Rakuten, of a controlling stake in Seiyu from Walmart, which was named “Private Equity Deal of the Year” at the Asia Legal Awards;
  • SoftBank Corp. in the $30 billion business integration of its consolidated subsidiary, Z Holdings Corporation—the parent company of Yahoo!   • Private equity firms, including Riverstone, in sales of minority stakes.

Jonathan has been recognized by Asian Legal Business for his work in M&A and private equity. He is fluent in Japanese. Jonathan received his J.D. from Harvard Law School, an A.M. from Harvard University and a B.A. from Brigham Young University.
