Simpson Thacher Represents Genesee & Wyoming Inc. in Acquisition of Rail Partners L.P. and its Railroad Business
Simpson Thacher represented Genesee & Wyoming Inc., a national operator of short line railroads, in its acquisition of certain subsidiaries and affiliates of Rail Management Corporation, including Rail Partners L.P. The business being acquired is composed of fourteen principal rail operations with locations throughout the South and Southeast United States. The $243 million acquisition closed June 1, 2005.
