Simpson Thacher Wins Four IFLR Awards
On April 3, 2008, Simpson Thacher was recognized at the International Financial Law Review's annual Americas Awards dinner and ceremony, held at the Waldorf-Astoria in New York. Simpson Thacher attorneys won Team of the Year Awards for Private Equity and for Restructuring. The Firm was also awarded "Private Equity Deal of the Year" for advising Kohlberg Kravis Roberts & Co. on its $29.2 billion acquisition of First Data Corporation, and "Equity Deal of the Year" for advising The Blackstone Group on its initial public offering -- the largest U.S. IPO in five years and one of the largest in history.
