Firm to Host NYSBA Event on Latin American Derivatives
On November 13, 2008 Simpson Thacher will host a panel on Derivatives Markets and Regulations in Latin America with the New York State Bar Association's Derivatives and Structured Products Law Committee. Partners David Williams and Todd Crider, counsel Joyce Xu, associate Fernando Szterling and international associate Sebastian Luegmayer are assisting the NYSBA in coordinating the event. Fernando will provide an introduction to the Latin American derivatives markets, including a comparison of countries and a review of the main products and current events. Fernando will be joined by José E. C. Queiroz of Mattos Filho Advogados to provide insight into Brazilian markets; Sebastian Luegmayer and Alejandro A. M. Anderlic of Estudio O’Farrell will talk about issues specific to Argentina; and Ricardo Fandiño of Gómez-Pinzón Zuleta Abogados will address Colombian markets and legal issues.
