Simpson Thacher Represents Initial Purchasers in US$400 Million Debt Offering by the Province of Córdoba

The Firm recently represented Citigroup Global Markets Inc. and UBS Securities LLC, as initial purchasers, in connection with a Rule 144A/Regulation S offering of US$400 million of 12.375% Notes due 2017 by the Province of Córdoba, a Province of the Republic of Argentina. The offering represented the Province of Córdoba’s inaugural debt offering in international capital markets.
The Province of Córdoba is the second most populated of Argentina’s 23 provinces, with a population of more than three million inhabitants, and is located in the central part of the country. The Province of Córdoba intends to use the net proceeds from the debt offering to repay existing indebtedness and to finance infrastructure projects.
