Simpson Thacher partner Mary Beth Forshaw served as a mock United States Supreme Court Justice at the Office of the Appellate Defender’s “The First Monday in October” program entitled “Does the First Amendment Shield Those Who Picket and Utter Hate Speech at Military Funerals?” held on October 4, 2010.  At this annual event, prominent litigators argue an important constitutional issue before a mock Supreme Court.
