Simpson Thacher Receives Four “Deal of the Year” Awards at ALB’s Japan Law Awards 2011
Simpson Thacher was recently awarded four “Deal of the Year” awards at the 2011 Asian Legal Business Japan Law Awards ceremony held in Tokyo on June 22, 2011. The awards included:
Debt Market Deal of the Year for our representation of the underwriters in the Bank of Tokyo-Mitsubishi UFJ US$2 billion senior debt offering.
Equity Market Deal of the Year for our representation of Dai-ichi Life Insurance in its demutualization and US$11 billion initial public offering. At the time, Dai-ichi’s IPO was the largest in Japan since October 1998, and the largest in the world since March 2008. To read more about this transaction, please click here.
