The Firm was recently awarded the 2011 ALB Hong Kong Law Awards Korea Deal of the Year award for our representation of the underwriters in Samsung Life Insurance’s $4.4 billion IPO.
The Firm also was recognized for this deal by Asian-MENA Counsel and FinanceAsia.
This offering was the largest ever IPO in Korea at the time, including dual-listed IPOs. The international placement was underwritten by Goldman Sachs, Merrill Lynch, Morgan Stanley, Citi and Nomura, and the domestic public offer was underwritten by Korea Investment & Securities, Shinhan Investment, Samsung Securities, Tong Yang Securities, KB Investment and Woori Investment.
