Office Depot/Office Max Merger Wins GCR’s “Merger Control Matter of the Year- Americas” Award
Simpson Thacher Litigation Partner Kevin Arquit was recently honored by
Global Competition Review for their counsel in the Office Depot/Office Max merger. The deal was announced as winner of
GCR’s “Merger Control Matter of the Year- Americas” award in a ceremony held in Washington, DC on March 25, 2014. The award recognizes creative, strategic competition work on a landmark merger control matter in the Americas. The Office Depot/Office Max case was shortlisted for the award on account of the contributions of the legal teams over a comprehensive, seven-month antitrust review, which was acknowledged by voters as an example at the pinnacle of contemporary M&A practice.
