Simpson Thacher Named 2016 M&A Group of the Year by Law360
Simpson Thacher was recognized by Law360 as M&A Group of the Year for 2016. The publication highlighted the Firm’s involvement in many of the year’s most prominent transactions, such as ChemChina’s announced acquisition of Syngenta, which marks the largest recorded outbound acquisition by a Chinese company.
The article also discussed the Firm’s representation of Tyco International in its merger with Johnson Controls, as well as its role as advisor to Microsoft in the company’s acquisition of LinkedIn, the third-largest technology deal in history.
Alan Klein and Mario Ponce, Co-Heads of the Firm’s Mergers & Acquisitions Practice, attributed the group’s success in 2016 to its long-standing relationships with clients across industries and its depth of experience with complex deals.
