Simpson Thacher Represents Initial Purchasers in Sale of $650 Million Senior Notes by Kosmos Energy

Simpson Thacher represented the initial purchasers, led by global coordinators Citigroup Global Markets Limited, SG Americas Securities, LLC and Standard Chartered Bank, in the sale of an aggregate principal amount of $650 million 7.125% Senior Notes due 2026 by Kosmos Energy Ltd. (“Kosmos”). Kosmos will use a portion of the net proceeds from the offering to redeem all of its outstanding 7.875% Senior Secured Notes due 2021 and intends to use the remaining net proceeds to repay a portion of the outstanding indebtedness under its revolving credit facility. The size of the offering was upsized from $600 million.
Kosmos is a full-cycle deepwater independent oil and gas exploration and production company focused along the Atlantic Margin.
