Simpson Thacher Wins Two 2019 PEI Awards
Simpson Thacher was honored by the 2019 PEI Awards as “Law Firm of the Year in North America (Transactions)” and “Law Firm of the Year in EMEA (Fund Formation).” PEI noted the Firm’s work on seven of the top 10 U.S. target private equity deals in 2019 and recognized the Firm for its role advising on some of the world’s most significant fundraisings. According to the publication’s data, Simpson Thacher advised on five of the top 10 largest fundraisings in 2019.
In addition, Simpson Thacher advised on several matters that were recognized by PEI, including:
- Hellman & Friedman’s approximately $11 billion acquisition of Ultimate Software as “Deal of the Year in North America”
- Refinitiv’s $27 billion acquisition by LSE as “Exit of the Year in North America”
- Blackstone Capital Partners VIII, which raised approximately $26 billion, as “Fundraise of the Year (Americas)”
- KKR’s acquisition of Metro Pacific Hospitals as “Deal of the Year in Asia”
- KKR’s approximately $1 billion sale of KCF Technologies to SKC Co. as “Exit of the Year in Asia”
