05.29.25

John Terzaken, Global Co-Chair of Simpson Thacher’s Antitrust and Trade Regulation Practice, was featured in an episode of the Corporate Law Center at Fordham Law’s “Bite-Sized Business Law” podcast titled, “From Cartels to Non-Competes: Talking All Things Competition Law with a Leading Antitrust Lawyer.” During the show, John discussed key aspects of antitrust enforcement, including how the fundamental principles of promoting competition and preventing collusion typically remain constant regardless of administration. When discussing what we might expect to see out of the current administration, John explained that the focus on technology might shift away from big monopolies to more collusion, including through algorithmic pricing and AI-driven collusion. He explained, “Given the prominence of AI and how it’s disrupting markets, antitrust is going to play a big role in how those technologies are able to shape industries going forward.” He also discussed the evolving landscape of non-compete agreements amid regulatory scrutiny, among other topics.
