Simpson Thacher & Bartlett LLP announced today that Grenfel S. Calheiros, Head of the Firm’s São Paulo office, has been appointed Co-Head of the Latin America Practice.

Grenfel Calheiros advises on capital markets and M&A across Latin America—particularly in Brazil—representing leading companies, private equity sponsors and investment banks in IPOs, cross-border deals and other complex transactions. He joined Simpson Thacher in New York in 2003 and relocated to Brazil in 2013 to lead the São Paulo office. Under his leadership, the Firm has strengthened its position as the leading international law firm in Brazil.
Todd Crider, who has led the Latin America Practice for nearly a decade, will continue in his role as Co-Head. Together, Grenfel and Todd will oversee a team of six partners and more than 30 lawyers focused on Latin America, reinforcing Simpson Thacher’s reputation as a premier international law firm in the region.
