Simpson Thacher Recognized as a “Global Elite” Firm by Global Competition Review
Simpson Thacher was recognized among Global Competition Review’s “Global Elite” firms in its annual GCR 100 rankings for 2026. GCR’s “Global Elite” designation signifies “the world’s top 25 antitrust practices based primarily on the quality and quantity of work done over the past year.” The Firm was also ranked among the top ten law firms globally for merger control.
Some of Simpson Thacher’s work highlighted by GCR included defending Amedisys in the U.S. Department of Justice’s lawsuit to block its proposed acquisition by UnitedHealth Group; obtaining a “major win” for Mattress Firm in its $4 billion acquisition by Tempur Sealy; and advising KKR in its joint venture with T-Mobile to acquire Metronet. The Firm was also recognized for its work obtaining antitrust litigation wins on behalf of Deutsche Bank and JPMorgan, among others.
