For the second year in a row, Simpson Thacher's Data Center team has secured the top rankings for both deal value and deal count for data center transactions globally based on Infralogic’s 2025 league tables. During this time frame, the Firm advised on the following high-profile transactions, among others:
- Funds managed by DigitalBridge on the formation of a joint venture with La Caisse for the acquisition of Yondr Group – named the Digital Infrastructure Deal of the Year, Europe by IJGlobal;
- AirTrunk’s A$16 billion (US$10.4 billion) (ex-Japan) sustainable refinancing – marking the Asia-Pacific region’s largest-ever sustainability linked financing;
- Macquarie Asset Management’s investment of up to $5 billion in the High-Performance Computing data center business of Applied Digital Corporation;
- The acquisition by Centersquare, a portfolio company of Brookfield, of 10 data centers across the United States and Canada with enterprise value of $1 billion;
- Switch’s $2.4 billion inaugural CMBS issuance – the largest green data center CMBS transaction and second-largest data center CMBS transaction in history;
- Prime Data Centers, an international owner and operator of data centers on its strategic equity investment by Snowhawk LP and Nuveen; and
- Arjun Infrastructure Partners’ inaugural investment in the data center sector – its acquisition of a 30% stake in Data4’s stabilized data center portfolio.
